The Obama Administration made a promise to close the Gitmo by January 22, 2010. This is a deadline that he {with all his magic cal powers} will be unable to meet. The ninety one Yemen prisoners in Guantánamo are the largest single group of terrorist held among the nearly two hundred still held. Of the ones already released to Yemen at least a dozen of them have rejoined al-Qaeda, again, to fight Americans. The American public should be concerned with the hundred that will soon be released back to Yemen and that country's ability to control these terrorist with will soon be released.
Six prisoners were returned to Yemen last month. After the Christmas Day bomb plot in Detroit, US officials are increasingly concerned that Yemen is becoming a hot-bed of terrorism.
The country's lay out with its mountainous terrain, poverty and lawless tribal society make it, a close match for Afghanistan as a new terrorist haven. The United States should be concerned about the growing strength of al-Qaeda in Yemen. But their only concern is closing Gito and not using the word terrorist. Most Americans do not want Gitmo closed. A USA Gallup Poll in May 2009 asking the following question and here are the results.
The US Government issued figures in May showing that 74 of the 530 detainees in Guantánamo were known to have returned to terrorist activity since they were release. Included in that figure was the commander of the Tali-ban in Helmand province, Mullah Zakir, who the British officials called "a key and effective tactical leader for the terrorist. Why was this man let go. The number believed to have "returned to the fight" in the May 2009 estimate was double that of a US estimate from June 2008. US officials admit that more detainees from Gitmo have rejoined their terrorist groups since their release, but the number has been keep secret by our government. WHY?
This nation needs to deal with the president and the empathy from liberals that is making that is letting these detainees going back to terrorism.
Government Officials said that a higher percentage of those still being held were likely to return to terrorism because they were considered more of a security threat than those selected in the early stages of the release program. It looks like they are all returning to their old ways. These ideologically committed terrorists simply are not going to listen or do the right thing.
The program, of releasing them back into the general public involves the whole family with a mixture of religious re-education {whatever that is}, patriotism, guilt and co-opting in terms of being given a car, a job and a nice wife." Only in the Islamic world can you be given a wife, - a nice one too. {makes no difference it she wants to marry you or not} Well so much for all those do-goody politically correct idiots, in this country that shouted for the freedom of these prisoners. All these people have done is aid and abet the return of terrorists that would bomb, kill, behead or maim innocent men, woman and children from all walks of life.
These terrorist need to be locked up so they can never hurt anybody again. Obama is the only manmade disaster today, not terrorism, because you have to call that what it is. A act of war against this country by murderous maniacs who put no value on life, only themselves and their so called religion of peace. We do not need to free anymore killers.
