THE BLAIR HOLT FIRE ARM BILL- HR45

Because of the actions of a few deranged criminals in the past couple of months, beware of the gun control crowd who want to take your guns away. From the gaining, possession, and use of the weapons involved in all of those shootings, every criminal action that took place was and is already illegal and there are laws upon laws on the books to deal with these criminals, but despite all these laws, there will be some power-hungry politician who will try to get re-elected and get more free television time by calling for yet another new gun law. Stay tuned to the boob tube and you will see! The liberal gun control nuts just can't understand or realize that CRIMINALS don't really care about laws and If they don't care about such laws as MURDER, ROBBERY, ASSAULT, and others, what makes the liberal gun control crowd think the criminals care about GUN CONTROL laws? The liberals will never get it. The honest man does not stand a chance.

Obama and his Attorney General have already made their positions on gun control and public individual gun ownership. They are against it. While serving in the Illinois legislature, the President fought hard for legislation to take away the 2nd amendment rights of Illinois residents. This is one piece of legislation that he never voted present on. Before the Washington, DC v Heller Supreme Court decision was handed down in June, 2008), both men said the states (and Washington, DC) should have the right to ban and make illegal individual gun ownership. There is no doubt that before the Obama's' first term ends, his administration, and his czars will take some action to deny and refuse Americans their 2nd amendment rights to own guns. It is coming. There is a new firearms bill {H.R. 45} that sets up tracking of gun owners and their guns. this has many gun owners up in arms. This bill is a federal requirement that would supposedly force gun owners to list their firearms on their federal income tax returns. But while the bill, without a doubt, puts in place wide sweeping gun-control measures {including one that would prohibit citizens from owning a gun without a license} the income tax provision, according to the latest from snopes.com, doesn't exist, {yet} The Blair Holt Firearms Bill {H.R. 45} was introduced Representative Bobby Rush, a liberal Democrat from Illinois. While the bill does not include provisions about reporting guns on federal tax forms, it does contain several gun-control proposals that are drawing angry disapproval from gun owners. If passed this bill {HR-45} would stop any person from owning any handgun or semiautomatic firearm that accepts a detachable ammunition feeding device, {in other words a clip} without obtaining a license from the federal government. This bill {H.R. 45} is flawed in that it focuses on the guns used in the crime rather than on the criminals who use the guns. And further this Bill would turn law-abiding citizens into violators of the law. If these liberals would focus just as hard on the criminals as they do the fire arms crime would go way down in this country.

Under this law, a person who is wants a firearm license must give to the attorney general of the United States an application with the following information: (1) current passport-sized photo (2) name, address, date and birthplace (3) any other name the applicant has used (4) a clear thumb print (5) a statement that the individual is not a person prohibited by federal or state law from obtaining a firearm (6) certification that the applicant will keep the firearm safely stored and out of the possession of minors (7) certificate showing applicant has passed a written firearms examination on the safe storage of firearms, safe handling of firearms, use of firearms in the home and risks associated with use, legal responsibilities of firearms owners and "any other subjects, as the Attorney General determines to be appropriate" (8) authorization to release "to the Attorney General or an authorized representative of the Attorney General any mental health records pertaining to the applicant" (9) the date on which the application was submitted, (10) and the applicant signature.

Licensed dealers would be required to submit to the attorney general or the proper state authorities the following information within 14 days of a transfer of a qualifying firearm: (1) manufacturer (2) model name or number (3) serial number (4) date of transfer (5) number of the transferee's valid firearm license (6) name and address of person who transferred the firearm. Within nine months of the bill's passage, the attorney general would be required to establish and maintain a federal system to track sales, including all of the identifying information submitted during a transfer of ownership. Under H.R. 45, it would be illegal to fail to report lost or stolen firearms or to fail to report change of address within 60 days of the change.

To ensure compliance with the act, the attorney general would be authorized to "enter any place in which firearms or firearm products are manufactured, stored or held, for distribution in commerce, and inspect those areas where the products are so manufactured, stored, or held." This act is not relevant to or for government authorities. {they are above the law}, but law-abiding Americans that have the right to keep and bear arms are not. (We don't have to be in a militia to own and keep guns.) This bill, however, would treat those citizens who exercise their rights to own a gun like criminals." The bills centers its attention primarily on guns as the instruments and cause of crime instead of punishing the criminals who commit illegal acts, with firearms, that are against the law. The way this bill has been put forth it makes law-abiding citizens violators of the law.

Several provisions in this bill would make compliance nearly impossible. {That is what the federal government wants} For instance, the bill spells out that if a firearms license holder fails to notify the Attorney General of an address change within 60 days, that person would be subject to a 5-year prison term and a fine of up to $250,000." The government wants to make you a criminal if you own a firearm. Any kind of bill that would require photographing and fingerprinting for simple possession of a firearm is fundamentally different in the fact that any law should target the criminal element, but this law would simply further burden and put a yoke around law-abiding people." Do you think that criminals are going to abide by this law?

This legislation is too far-reaching and repressive to become law. American gun owners are tired of their rights being denigrated and destroyed Any politician who votes for this bill or any bill of this type should be remembered and voted against when they come up for re-election. There are so many existing gun laws that do nothing to stop or restrain criminals. History and statistics both prove that such bills are destructive to the citizens of this country. If this bills' purpose is to truly 'protect the public against the unreasonable risk of injury and death' then the Congress should realize that the only threats to the public are from the criminal element that this bill will not address, and from the government itself.
"With Guns, We Are ”Citizens”. Without Them, We Are “Subjects."
