The more I read the founding fathers, the more I am amazed at
their wisdom. John Adams said, "Our
Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly
inadequate to the government of any other." Ben Franklin said, "Only a virtuous people are capable of
freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of
masters." This creates a very big predicament and problem for the present
day conservative as well as the Democrat who still cares about the
Constitution.
I am one of those relics, from years gone past like many others, who
believe that Republicans must be both social and fiscal conservatives, because,
in the fight for freedom, the country's moral compass is at least as important
as the fiscal one, because in the end a country and the people in it will
either be governed by God or by tyrants." With the
above quotes and hundreds more like them from our foundering fathers, the warning;
to us all is very clear, it should be crystal clear to all Americans. As this
nation become more ungodly, immoral, and unspiritual as a country, we lose the aspiration,
the desire, and the ability to govern ourselves with good manners, good morals
and faith that this country was founded and built on. Because of this failure
in our society we have the need for more and more laws to be made and passed to
control us.
We can see this very thing happening at a swift and rapid speed.
So, tell me this: Is it any wonder that
we as citizens are losing our freedom and the Constitution is being abandoned
and discarded more and more as time goes by? If the Constitution is inadequate
or not enough to govern a morally wrong and irreligious, ungodly people, we had
better be supporting those who uphold morals and religion found in the Bible,
or we can expect freedom to keep being taken from us, here a little and there a
little and tyranny. Oppression, dictatorship, and totalitarianism will be its
replacement. We here the old saying “God Bless America” well friends it is
time, before it is too late, for “America to bless God!”
